The Man at the Crossroads

Where the Roads meet
Bury it there
Scratch into the earth
What you Need.
Be Specific -
Do Not Doubt
This is The Doorway.

The Dapper Gentleman
A Dark Stranger
Might Come By
Strolling
Nonchalant -
Whistling Perhaps
On a Pleasant Afternoon.

If He Asks You
Child, What is it
What do you Want,
And What Do You Leave
Speak Clearly
Eloquently
This is your Chance

The Black Man
Might Catch Your Words
Fold Them Like Money
Slip Them Into his Pocket
Like a Love Note
And Keep on Walking
Down the Road
